DAY TRIP FROM MARRAKECH: IMLIL & THE HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS
About us
Escape the heat of Marrakech and breathe the fresh air of the High Atlas.
Just 64 km from the Red City lies the charming mountain village of Imlil (1,740m), the gateway to the Toubkal National Park and the legendary starting point for trekkers attempting Mount Toubkal (4,167m) – the second-highest peak in Africa after Kilimanjaro.
More than a day trip, this is a true immersion into authentic Berber life. You will cross the dramatic Asni Gorges, discover earth-built villages clinging to mountainsides, walk through terraced fields, and enjoy a scenic mule ride to the perched village of Aremd for the most iconic panoramic view of the Imlil Valley. This is where the Hollywood movie "Seven Years in Tibet" was filmed.
